A new machine installed at the Detmold Medical lab has enhanced our ability to test product onsite.

The high-level filter tester, or PALAS PMFT 1000, has recently been installed to enable testing of particulate filtration efficiency and breathing resistance with extreme accuracy.

This means - we can take a detailed look at the performance of your mask.

The machine uses an aerosol generator, paired with a light scattering spectrometer to determine filter efficiency, or how many and what sized particles are collected by a mask.

These filter tests can be performed with different aerosols to investigate performance, including use of either oil or sodium chloride aerosol generators.

The filter tester has allowed for easier and immediate monitoring of product performance onsite at the Detmold Medical lab.

Incorporating the flexibility to test to international standards also assists in meeting expectations or requirements for masks to perform beyond the Australian Standard.

We continue to provide high performance face masks to protect health care professionals, investing in our in-house testing alongside our PPE manufacturing capability.
