Detmold Group welcomes new CEO Conrad Groenewald

July 2 , 2021

It is with great pleasure that the Detmold Group announces the appointment of Conrad Groenewald as CEO.

Conrad will take over from Alf Ianniello, who has been with the business for 14 years. Alf has had significant impact in that time, leading the business through considerable periods of change.

Executive Chairman Rodney Detmold said a formal handover to Conrad will occur on July 5.

“The Board and I would like to thank Alf for the leadership he has shown and the value he has created during a period of strong growth and expansion,” Rodney said.

“We are pleased to have secured Conrad as our CEO to lead the business in what promises to be an exciting future. Conrad is a successful CEO with global experience in significant organisations, including James Hardie, HealthShare NSW and Visy Industries.”

“Conrad’s experience in global leadership roles and paper and board converting positions him well to lead the Group.”

As Conrad prepares to formally step into his role as CEO, he has spent several weeks getting to know the business, its partners, people and products.

“I am very excited to be joining the Detmold Group, an innovative and fast-moving company,” Conrad said.

“Having spent some time getting to know the business, I am looking forward to continue the global growth of the Detmold Group. There is real appetite from industry to move to sustainable packaging solutions and the Detmold Group is uniquely positioned to actively support their customers through this ongoing transition.

“I look forward to working with the Detmold family and Board, and all of our employees across the globe to capitalise on the strong foundation created over many generations.” Conrad said.

Conrad will formally take the position of CEO of the Detmold Group on July 5.
